Get Your Show On Our Site…

Posted by Chris Brummel | Permalink | Comments (0)
Categories: CultureMob Site

I’m regularly running into folks who are asking how they can get their events on our website. If you’re performing shows in the Seattle area, chances are that we’re catching your show on our site; but if the venue you’re playing at isn’t on our site, we’re most likely missing your shows.

If that’s the case, the best way to get your show on CultureMob.com is to let us know that the venue you’re performing at isn’t listed on the site. Not only will your shows appear on CultureMob.com, but your events will also appear in various print publications and websites, such as AOL and MSN.

So make sure that your fans can follow your events. If your venue isn’t on CultureMob.com, let us know.

COMING SOON: The ability for users to add events! Huzzah!!

The latest release is live! The user name and password requirements are gone! (No more dress code. What you’re wearing does cut it.) People are using the site and providing feedback. The world can see what we’ve been working on these many months.

Best of all, we’re just getting started. We’ve got tons of work still to do, but we’re completing the fundamentals. We’ve got a great foundation for building our vision of the best local events discovery site on the web.

As we do that, we get to build cool, innovative software and add to the vitality of Seattle’s local event scene. A great combo.

Have any comments on what we can do better? Just let us know. Post a comment or email me and/or Mike Showalter (the guy who’s really in charge). We’re a work in progress, releasing early and iterating often. The best is yet to come!

And don’t forget, be sure to tell 1,000 of your closest friends about CultureMob.com!

The tech team is really delivering! The latest version of the product is up on staging and showing HUGE strides over the current version. Wow. Great work guys. Sure there are a few bugs creeping around, but they’ll be squashed in short order.

Now, if we can just get the heat back on in this place…

In dire need of an a name for our soon to be released event site our team is prepared to take desperate measures.

Enter Drunkgle. A simple mash-up of Boggle and Drunkardry!

We’ll let you know how successful our efforts are in posts to come, but for now I’ll share with you the rules.

Drunkgle Rulez (v0.5):
Normal boggle rules apply for any english word.

The following Drunkgle rules are as follows for any other word.

Word Validation:
If a majority of players agree a Drunkgle word is a plausible domain name the word will be awarded a score. Tie votes do not award points.

Word Score:
3-4 Character words are worth 1 point.
5-6 Character words are worth 5 points
7-9 Character words are worth 1 point
10+ Character words: drink.

Word Score Multipliers:
1. The total word score is multiplied by the number of people that have also recorded a drunkgle word.
2. If a drunkgle word is unregistered as a .com or .us the domain is multiplied by 10 points.

Drinking Rules:
Each round the point winner and loser each get to impose a drink on any player at the table.
