Black Friday After Thanksgiving Day Sales- San Francisco

Everyone knows the Thanksgiving story of the pilgrims and the Mayflower, of the Native Americans and the corn planted with a dead fish; we all have heard about the shared dinner of wild turkey and harvest grains, the pumpkin pie milkshakes, Coca-Cola and the tall black hats with buckles, the long-running argument over “stuffing” vs. “dressing” between Goody Smith and Reverend John. America knows the story of the first Thanksgiving Day like we know how to draw a hand-outline turkey with orange and brown crayons. We know.
But have you heard the tale of the day AFTER the first Thanksgiving? The pilgrims, the Native Americans, and the dead fish all passed out stone-cold from the giant feast of tryptophantastic turkey and while they were sleeping, SOMEBODY (the turkeys, ahem…) came and stole all of their all clothes, buckled hats, feather headdresses and ALL! How embarrassing! So everyone from little Emily to Flying Eagle loaded up in the back of a giant SUV, drove to the closest mall and bought new wardrobes. Most people think that the Puritans wore all black because of their stodgy beliefs about color provoking pleasure and excitement, but really that was all that was left in the sales bins once they got to the shops around 10AM. You snooze you lose.

And thus one of our finer traditions was born: Black Friday, and to this very day many Americans go out shopping like mad the day after Thanksgiving, often leaving home very early in the morning so they do not suffer the same fate of black clothing that our ancestors did so many years ago. American shops, stores, and Walmart get in on the fun and host HUGE sales, the biggest all year, on all kinds of goody goods from American-made cotton underwear to lead-based toys from China.
Here are THE VERY BEST of BLACK FRIDAY SALES EVENTS for the whole family! Many of these sales actually start midnight on Thanksgiving Day, for the people who can actually move after our National Day of Feasting.
