Denver is a crazy place with lots of parties, political and otherwise. Here are the top places to watch the election results in the Mile-High City:

1. The Libertarians know how to get down, and their Election Night Party at Woody’s Wood-Fired Pizza features real-live Libertarians and some free food.

2. The Election Night Simulcast at the big Boulder Theater will be followed by a super fun discussion.

3. Gather with the fun-loving conservatives at Breckenridge Brewery for the Prager Listener Group Election Night Party; the private room will ensure a controlled environment (except for the actual election results).

4. Count your chickens before they hatch at the Republican Post-Election Victory Party at the Denver Marriott South. And remember: there’s plenty of crying in politics.

5. Do you like political burlesque and fightin’ Obama and McCain heads? Get to Fulcrum Publishing’s Election Night Event at the Historic Oriental Theater. This is definitely the best election night party in Denver.

There is no better place to be than Washington D.C. for the momentous occasion that is the 2008 Presidential Election. Get your friends together and head out to watch the live election returns, drink a star-spangled cocktail and scream at the TV at these top spots for election night parties:

1. Forget apple pie and baseball, there is nothing more American than partying at one of D.C.’s hottest clubs, Ultra Bar, located less than a mile away from the US Capitol. Get to the ElectionNight.us Election Party with TVs, DJs and non-partisan fun- as long as you believe in the rights of life, liberty, and the pursuit to party!

2. The 1331 Bar and Lounge is having an Election Party with ten flat-screen TVs and special red, white and blue cocktails.

3. There is a sweet Election Party going down at Busboys and Poets starting at noon for the hard-core politicos, busboys, and poets. They promise to stay open until Obama is declared the winner.

4. Get fancy like Obama at the Election Night Party at the Ritz-Carlton: each time a state is called for McCain, red drinks are half-price, and every time a state is called for Obama, blue drinks are half-price. Good think I’m a big fan of Blue Hawaiians!

5. Everyone’s a winner with red and blue beer, 25-cent hot wings, and glow-in-the-dark necklaces at the Capital Lounge’s Election Night Blowout Party.

6. Celebrate American politics at the infamous Mayflower Hotel with Election Night Viewing, free hors-d’oeuvres, McCain Mojitos and ObamaRamas.

7. The Obama Pride Election Night Party at Nellie’s Sports Bar will be celebrating with $12 beer buckets and free hors-d’oeuvres.

8. Live DJs, candy, prizes, and Daily Show coverage for the kid in you at The Bohemian Caverns’s Election Night Party, complete with parade in the streets after Obama wins!

9. Get heavy with tons of staffers at the Hawk ‘N’ Dove where pundits and politicos almost outnumber tables; with 17 TVs you won’t have to miss a moment of coverage at this Election Results Party.

10. The Grand Old Party will be having a Election Night Victory Party at the Hilton by the airport- coincidence? Why do I hear crickets chirping?

Election Night Parties in Boston

If America was born of the mingling thoughts of freedom by our founding fathers, then Boston is certainly where some of the magic happened. From the Boston Common to Park Street Church to the site of the famous tea party, this New England gem has ‘I LOVE AMERICA” written all over its face. With an environment like that, how can you not go out on November 4th and VOTE and then party with the ghosts of the men and women who fought and died for your right to vote, and party? It is your duty, and this is where to report: the best places to watch the presidential election returns in Boston.

1. You are bound to run into Joe the Plumber at Kings Lanes’ Election Night Party where you can mix voting results with gutter balls.

2. They have free appetizers and prizes for correct election predictions (I would go with Obama) at the MIT Bipartisan Election Night Viewing Party at Game On.

3. Who doesn’t like a little swank with their politics? The Bar 10 Election Night Party at Westin Copley Place will be serving up cocktails and election results in style.

4. Say goodbye to eight years of horror at The Savant Project with lots of blue markers and free tapas with proof you voted at the Election Night Bash.

5. Ain’t no party like a political party and they will be living it up at the Boston News Net’s Live Election Night “Politcal Party” at ImprovBoston, complete with irony, satire, irreverence, and beer, of course.

6. I think they’re for Obama at the Vote for Change Election Night Party with live bands The Modern Elite and The BlowUp Dads at T.T. The Bear’s Place.

7. Have another at Drinking Liberally’s Election Night Party at Mantra Restaurant with the largest young professional’s election results party in the Boston area, featuring DJs and a special appearance by Joe the Plumber.

8. The Pro-Israel Community will be watching the results on multiple screens at The Greatest Bar for the Boston YL Election Night Party.

9. For you electronic music freaks out there, it’s beats for Obama with DJs Tipsy and the Hannanimal at the Election Night Party at River Gods.

10. Way out west? The Images Cinema Election Night Party at The Red Herring has themed drinks and an all-American cash bar.

Election Night Parties in Austin

Since moving away from Austin in 2000 I have described the city over and over as a “tiny liberal island in a vast conservative sea.” Here’s hoping those liberal islanders have something to celebrate as they watch the election returns filter in. Just remember: you may want to take that Obama sticker off your car once you pass the city limits.

Here are the best places in the Texas state capital to watch the presidential election returns on Tuesday, November 4th:

1. The official Texas Democrats Election Night Victory Party is being held at the Driskill Hotel. Whether they are counting their chickens or not with that name, this snazzy downtown hotel party is bound to go off.

2. If you like your drinks poured like your politics, go to the Drinking Liberally Election Night Party at The Dog and Duck Pub and have a brou-ha-ha in their sweet beer garden.

3. The Travis County Libertarians are having an Election Night Party at the Paradise Cafe with some free appetizers, $3.50 Mexican martinis and plenty of Libertarians.

4. Go out in Texas style with a big screen and big buckets of beer at Election Night at the Alamo Draft House (South Lamar).

5. The Austin Hippies (which ones?) are having an Election Night Party at the Drungo Ice House with free pool, darts, big screens, and mucho tolerance for ALL political philosophies. Damn hippies.

6. There is an Election Night Results Viewing Networking Mixer at The Studio with a free buffet and a really long name.

7. For more beer garden goodness, Scholz Garten is showing election returns in high-def at their Election Watch Party.

8. What economy? It’s happy hour the entire evening at Mohawk with Full Election Coverage all night long.

9. Why watch the election on your one puny TV at home when you could watch live results on 40 plasma screen TVs at the Third Base Bar and Grill’s Election Watch Party?

10. For $2 pints and barbeque that will knock your boots off, hit the Election Night Party at Uncle Billy’s Barbeque.

There is no city in the country that will be buzzing more than Chicago on election night, and after you vote on November 4 there is nothing left to do but take a deep breath and join your fellow Americans to watch the live election returns, hold hands and cry/pray/yell, and drink red-white-and-blue cocktails like there is no hope for tomorrow. It doesn’t matter what party you voted for, because there is an election night party calling your name. Check out the list below, put on your star-spangled banner fuzzy hat and get ready to do some TV-screaming!

1. THE BIG ONE is of course the Obama Election Night Rally in Grant Park with 65,000 other Obamicans going nuts; why not spend this historic event with the next President of the United States of America? I said it, WHAT?

2. Watch the candidates fight it out America-style at Sonotheque’s Election Night Fight and enjoy $5 drink specials like “The Alaskan Hockey Mom”- a shot of Svedka vodka with PBR!

3. At the LUMA Election Night Party at the Loyola University Museum of Art you will find a smarty-pants presidential quiz, neat prizes, and ‘patriotic food,’ like Yankee Doodle’s feather macaroni.

4. If you are more Larry Wine-Lover than Joe Six-Pack, get to Bin Wine Cafe where they have red wine on special and $5 burgers at their Election Night Party. Where’s the blue wine? PARTISAN!!!!

5. Hopefully you won’t have the blues at the House of BluesRock the Vote Election Night Party with plenty of live music, DJs, and drinks.

6. FitzGerald’s Nightclub has real live Democrats and a 9X16′ screen for their Election Watch Party- plus a special election night buffet. God bless America!

7. Singles may want to think about the Chicago Shakers Election Night Party at Joe’s Sports Bar where they will be celebrating the “Event of the Century” with gourmet pizza, a billion TVs, and an OPEN BAR serving drinks like the “Obama-Mama” and the “Maverick.”

8. Fizz Bar & Grill is throwing an Election Night Party where you can make a campaign button with YOUR face on it. FREE buffet with drink purchase.

9. An open bar awaits you at the Bipartisan Blowout Election Night Party at the McCormick Tribune Auditorium, along with the chance to win 2 air tickets to Washington D.C. so you can visit our nation’s capitol either to revel in your candidate’s glorious win or, camp on the Mall and PROTEST, of course.

10. Just keep it low-key with 25-cent hot wings and $3 pints at the Election Night Party at High Dive.

Election Night Parties in San Francisco

How will the fantastic saga of the 2008 presidential election play out? No one knows, except maybe Diebold, but one thing is sure: you want to watch the results surrounded by your compatriots with drink in hand. In San Francisco there are tons of election night parties; here are the best places to get your patriotism on:

1. Captain Eddie Rickenbacker’s is having an Election Day Results Party complete with red, white, and blue shots, state-by-state shot taking of those Yankee Doodle concoctions, and an obese tabby cat. God Bless America.

2. For some real fun head to the Edinburgh Castle Pub for their General Election Party where Palin glasses and cynical laughter are encouraged.

3. Watch election results comfortably with cocktail in hand at Elixir, one of San Fran’s oldest saloons (1858), at Barack the Vote Election Night Party. Dress code is patriotic.

4. The Balboa Theatre suspends it’s regular showings for a special Election Event: a big screen for big news.

5. They are certainly ready to party at the Yerba Buena Center for the Arts with Freedom of Art: Election ‘08. Write on the walls, make a time capsule, and then eat free pizza when the polls close.

6. The best venue award goes to the Election Night Party aboard Franklin Roosevelt’s Presidential Yacht, the “Potomac.” Wine, dine, and watch the election returns while you cruise around San Francisco Bay.

7. For a low-key results watching party followed by a serious discussion about the future, go to the Election Night Watch at the La Pena Cultural Center in Berkeley.

8. The Retox Lounge welcomes all party affliations, as long as they’re buyin’ drinks at the Election Party ‘08 with DJs on decks. BYOSnacks.

9. Get drinks at Depression-era prices at the fun-filled Troubletown Election Night Party at The Riptide; the event is also an art show and book signing. Free food and election coverage provided by The Daily Show.

10. Go all out and make it official with the Official San Francisco Election Night Event at the Moscone Center at this pro-Obama blowout. The first hundred people through the door get a sweet Shepard Fairey “Hope” poster.

Election Night Parties in Portland

Portland is a beautiful green city, full of nice characters, some really great music, a tram, a giant bookstore, and a shiny clean dose of political activism. Which means, come November 4th, the Portlanders will be out and about and looking for a place to watch the election returns, gather with neohippie friends and drink a delicious local microbrew or two.

Where to go? Let your red-white-and-blue wings carry you these top Election Night Parties in Portland:

1. The Doug Fir Lounge is hosting the Portland Mercury’s big Election Night Party; join Sam Adams, Steve Novick, Amy Ruiz and DJ Gregarious as they scream at the live televised returns all night.

2. West Cafe promises an Election Night Party to celebrate the “changing of the guard.” Holy Palin we hope so!

3. Party with The Party! Join the Democrats from the Oregon Senate and House at the Oregon Convention Center for their Election Night Party - but watch out for those crazy politicians!

4. The Green Party may not be putting a tree-hugger in the White House, but that’s not going to stop them from kicking back with the rest of America in front of a big screen with beer in hand at the Portland Pacific Green Party’s Election Night party at the Redwing Coffee and Bakery.

5. Willamette Week is having an Election Night Rager at Grand Central Bowl with live blogging, cheap bowling and cheaper beer, high-def TV coverage and live music from Joe Nasty- and they will be broadcasting it all live with host Rick Emerson.

5. News anchors from KOIN Channel 6 will be at the 2008 Election Watch at McMenamin’s Bagdad Theatre & Pub; join them and watch the results live on air and maybe even get an interview with Mike Donahue!

6. At Blitz East some cats will be wildly hoping off the hizzy for an Obama victory at their Election Night Party; come one come all.

7. For a classic American experience including popcorn, a big balloon drop, champagne and ten flat-screen TVS get to The Cleaners at the Ace Hotel for their Election Night Party 2008. This 21+ event charges $15, but all the proceeds are matched by the Ace Hotel and will go to the organization of your vote. Plus, free snacks!

8. If you like your live election results super-sized, get to the Living Room Theater for Election Night- admission is free but space is limited, so be sure to reserve your seat.

9. Swanky and sophisticated, the Gilt Club is celebrating their anniversary along with Election Night with coverage shown throughout the dining room. I’ll take the smoked duck and Obama for president, please.

10. Get out of the city and head to Monteaux’s Public House in Beaverton for their non-partisan party, “It’s Finally Over!” I’m thinking this might be a good choice for Republicans.

Election Night Parties in Seattle

Republicans are Red,

Democrats are Blue

Whatever you voted,

There’s drinkin’ to do!

Seattle is a political town, full of passion and outspoken characters, luke-warm initiatives and hot debates on the street, sign-filled protests and the ubiquitous LaRouche booth. You know you care, so for the red-white-and-blue epic adventure that is the 2008 presidential election, after you vote don’t just sit at home alone and scream at your television- instead get out on the town and gather your friends around to watch the election results filter in and the nation pull itself out of it’s current downward spiral OR crumble forever into mindless oblivion.

BEST ELECTION RESULTS PARTIES IN SEATTLE: Tuesday November 4th

1. The Stranger’s Election Party at Showbox at the Market: This is the big one! It’s free, hosted by Dan Savage, and not fettered by loud DJs or go-go dancers or annoying speeches. Just the election results, and booze.

2. Like your election coverage a little dirty and covered with grime? Get your dive on at the Comet Tavern’s Election Night Party. This bar is used to the screaming.

3. I will be with all those electronic music freaks and robots at the Nectar Lounge in Fremont, but this Election Night Dance Party isn’t just about getting election results- it’s also about getting down. Join local superstar DJs Ctrl_Alt_Del, Kadeejah Streets, Travis Baron, Grindle and more as share their great love of America with the dance floor.

4. Nuemos is also throwing a Big Dance: Election Night Viewing Party on the 12′ screen in their main room.

5. Central Cinema hosts an Election Night Returns Party, drink beers and eat vegan pigs-in-a-blanket to the tune of Yankee Doodle Dandy in your head!

6. Get fancy at the Northwest Film Forum with an Election Evening Extravaganza! Just saying that makes me feel patriotic! Join dead presidents (in costume form not dolla-dolla bill form) as well as major network broadcasts in two cinemas, radio coverage in the lobby, and a giant U.S. map with red and blue lightbulbs!

7. Want to discuss the issues that motivated you to vote this year? Get serious at the Election Night Special at Town Hall with Democratic consultants, political reporters, trivia and prizes.

8. Soak up that political anxiety with appetizers and a salad bar buffet at the 1st Congressional District and Snohomish County’s 2008 Election Night Party at the Nile Shrine Center.

9. This Land-Jam at Egan’s Ballard Jam House has an open jam session along with election results.

10. Drink like a Kennedy at Drinking Liberally at Montlake Alehouse; the event happens every Tuesday night but on November 4th will be stuffed with politicos and bloggers.

11. With the best party name and an MC to boot, the Election Night Throw Down at See Sound Lounge has live election coverage and $3 drink specials. Watch the results with a cocktail in hand and two feet on the dance floor.

12. Dispose with all this fluff and just watch the results with your sandwich at the Nickerson Street Saloon.

XV Reasons to Go to Analog XV at Rebar FRIDAY NIGHT

Posted by Shilo Urban | Permalink | Comments (2)
Categories: Culture, Dance, Electronic, Entertainment, Local Artists, Music, Shilo

The Produkt family throws a big crazy dance party the last Friday of every month at The REBAR called Analog, and this October the lineup is sweet, the candy corn is sticky, and there are tons of reasons you should come out and get down this Friday night! Here are my top 15:

1. It’s a Masquerade Ball! Guests are encouraged to wear all black and a mask. You know what happens when people wear masks, right? Things can get a little nutty.

2. Sonny Chiba will be throwing electro from his fingers; this well-known and most-loved DJ has just a tiny bit of experience at these so-called “dance parties”

3. Goner, aka the birthday boy is an up-and-comer in the impending inferno that is the Seattle techno scene. One to watch and not to miss.

4. Nordic Soul always delivers. It’s just that simple. Slick beats expertly mixed. You might recall a little party he threw last month called the Decibel Festival.

5. Noisemaker does what Noisemaker wants. Do you remember the last Analog that Noisemaker played? Yeah I thought so.

6. LIVE ART with LIVE ARTIST Elizabeth. Live art + electronic music = vitamins for the soul

7. Produkt knows how to party. These cats are feral and one of the dopest, wackiest crews in Seattle. From kitchen sinks to impromtu underwear go-go guest dancers to body paint bikinis to orange cones to swords, they have more fun than anyone I know.

8. It’s Cassie’s birthday! Pressha is right: “CASSIE’S HOT!!!” And hot girls have hot friends, it’s a universal truth. And these hot chicks just happen to also be…

9. Produkt Go-Go Dancers! Mallory, Jess, Ashley, Asifa, Marni, Alex, Nefarious, Desiree- what go-go grab bag do we get this month? Any way you cut it, it’s a handful!

10. BECAUSE IT IS LATE OCTOBER and the usual feeling of mischief brought on by the dark of night is even MORE INTENSE this time of year and who knows what ghoulish spirits might be afoot or what may be lurking in the recesses of the evening to come and eat your soul…mwah ha ha ha!!!

10. Spirit Dancer.

11. REBAR is the dance club de la nuit and in this neighborhood you can get as loud and rambunctious as you want- plus there are lots of nooks around to sneak off to and curtains to get lost in. No one will know- you’re wearing a mask!

12. Matt Matsuda in full effect with his mad paparazzi skills documenting all the moments you won’t remember.

13. To get ready for the sweet afterhours going down with Nosaj Thing at 3AM- for venue info just ask around at Analog; I bet the blond chick going nuts at the front of the dance floor probably knows.

14. To drink and socialize, hel-lo.

15. TO GET DOWN! This is a dance party thrown by a dancing crew in a club that puts dancing first and is always one of my favorite nights of the month. Everyone is invited to join the party and celebrate life Produkt-style, so get your ass down to REBAR Friday night for Analog XV: Masquerade Ball!

Click here for more information about the Analog XV: Masquerade Ball. $5 Before 11PM, $7 After.
